Dedication to all the special people in my life!

Friendship Poems

Friends
A friend is someone we turn to
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives
with beauty, joy, and grace.
And makes the whole world we live in
a better and happier place.

- Jean Kyler McManus -

Friends

There's nothing as nice as someone who shares,
your laughter, your secrets, your wishes and cares,
someone who's there through your good times and tears,
who stays by your side as your friend through the years.

From Fashion Victim To Fashion Freedom!

That's how I feel when I think about my "past life". Being in the fashion industry and being surrounded by the people in fashion, you kind of think this would be what hell would be like, except maybe more hotter. :P My employers and coworkers would freak out if the wrong button was sewn on! For Pete's sake people, there's starving orphans out there, and you are worried about a button??? Also, the moral values were pretty much nonexistent. Infidelity was running rampant. It was a hobby that was bragged about like it should be something to be proud of. Made my stomache sick. Dorky Musician can vouch for how miserable I was when I met him...I was so confused as to why I even chose this line of work. I just liked the creativity part of it....didn't take into consideration what the people were like.

But, now, I say "Fashion Freedom" because, ever since I left that "life", I feel FREE! The Lord has blessed me with a family I love with all my heart and soul. I love the fact that I don't have to deal with the superficial people but, actually made real, honest, down-to-earth, awesome friends. I love the fact that I'm so "not with it" by wearing clothes that are comfortable and that I like, rather than worry about wearing the latest things to impress coworkers and bosses so I can be taken seriously (because if you don't keep up with the Joneses, you won't get very high on the fashion ladder).

I don't regret going into the industry....it just made me appreciate so much more of what I have now, when I think about what I was missing before...all the important stuff. It's not the "successful" career, or the high salary, or the recognition by people who could care two hoots about me. I feel successful and SOOOO blessed and grateful for my God, my family, and my friends. That is what success is...and that is what being rich is! :D

Let's play a game!

I'll start....I'll say a word, and anyone can jump in and say a word that it relates to.

Anchovies :P

Oh boy, buckle your seatbelt...

Cuz this dream was a doozy! Holy cow, now I really gotta check out what I eat to make me dream like this.... :|

Well, last night's dream....I was pregnant, and I gave birth to this fleshy (sausage with human skin and feels like human) sausage. It had no arms, legs, or anything that made it look remotely alive. So, I told the nurse, what is that, that can't be a baby. She said that it was, and that it hadn't sprouted arms and legs, that's all, give it time. I said fine and took it home. Well, hubby and I decided we also wanted to get a puppy, so we did, a Beagle. Brought it home, and then the sausage began to transform! The arms and legs and everything started to come out. And, guess what???? It wasn't a human baby, it was another Beagle puppy! So, I told hubby, we gotta return this thing, and tell them what happened. He said we didn't need to, that the baby wasn't registered (the hospital ran out of paper that day), so it wouldn't be a problem. I said that I didn't care, we still had to tell the hospital what happened or they might think we did something to the baby and replaced it with a Beagle. And, that's when my dream ended.

I told you it was weird!!!! I'm even amazed and rather creeped out by this dream. :|

Roasting pans....

I have two roasting pans, one from the 70's that we acquired from a house we bought from the previous owner who died and left it behind. And, one I just bought recently from good ol' Walmart. And, you know what? They look the same other than the slight variation in blue color. But, they have the same speckled white stuff and the same "leaf" imprint on the bottom.

My question is....is there a purpose to the speckled stuff and "leaf" imprint, that they have to have it on every roasting pan I see? If you can solve this mystery, I will be eternally grateful. :P

Ahh....the difficult questions in life..... ;)

Weird phone calls...

I didn't have time to post my weird dream from Thursday night, but it was a doozy!

I was living in CA and I had to call my hubby, who I was dating in my dream and living in another state, on his cellular. To call him, I had to call him with numbers that were placed in a particular complicated pattern. I got a hold of him and we ended up chatting instead of making travel and meeting arrangements. So, when we hung up, I realized I had to call him back to make the arrangements. Well, this time around, I didn't dial it in the right sequence because I wanted to take a short cut dialing, and I got him but he answered the phone like this "This is me, but this is 2 years ago and I'm in the insane asylum". WOW! Weird, huh? So, I tried calling him again, but this time I forgot how to do the sequence all together, and I couldn't get a hold of him, so I was sweating buckets this time not knowing how I'm going to be able to meet him at the airport, etc.

So, that was when my dream ended. Boy, what do I eat for dinner that my dreams are so WEIRD!?

What to do, what to do....

I'm sorry to disappoint my regular viewers. The regular broadcasting of "Nutty Dreams" will not be shown today. The director/producer/creator of the show was asleep. ;)

So, here I am left to blog about something, so I'll just blog about nothing.

What makes life great:

1.God (He is GREAT!) :D
2.Family (Love them with all my heart and soul.)
3.Friends (They keep me sane...and also cause my insanity.) :P
4.Their health, safety, and well-being (YES!)
5.Walmart (Obsessed with this place.) :D
6.Target (If only there was one nearby, I would probably have a room of my own there cuz I'll be a regular there.) :P
7.Buffets (Preferably Chinese....YUMMO!)
8.soy sauce (God's gift to man-kind.) ;)
9.shoes (What else do I need to say?)
10.pig's intestines with tofu (Hope this is going to be in Heaven as well...)
11.purses with lots of compartments (My way of making order in my life.) :P
12.anchovy chips (Yum yum yum.)
13.Home & Garden's shows "If Walls Could Talk" and "Mission Organization" (Awesome!)

That's all I can think of for now...but, if I come up with anything else, I'll post some more.

My crazy ride at Walmart....

Well, I had another wierd dream that involved Walmart, a slip, dogs, and a crazy ride on an "elevator". Piqued your interest? Then read on! :P

In my dream, I was shopping at Walmart in search of a slip for a dress that needed it. I went up to the counter and asked a lady where I can find it. This Walmart was the size of a mini mall....so, it was a bit confusing to be in there. The lady showed me to this "elevator". It was all open, no walls, just a small circle platform to stand on, and handles to hold onto. She said I can find it on the second floor. Well, the elevator ZOOMED up, with me holding onto the handles for dear life! I finally got to my destination, and went up to the counter and asked another lady if I may look at the slips. She got out 4 to choose from, and while I was at it, I might as well choose a dog from the 2 she had on the counter. That's when my dream ended. So, I didn't get to buy my slip and don't know what dog I would have chosen. They were cute too. Labs, except they were white with black spots here and there.

Am I going crazy? You might think so from my dreams, eh? ;)

Martha Stewart doesn't like me! :|

I had a peculiar dream last night....

Martha and an unfamiliar person was visiting my home, and I cooked dinner for them. After tasting my cooking, they started crying and then got mad at me. They were criticizing how horrible a cook I was, how shameful my housekeeping was, and complained how my food just stained their clothes. Of course, I was devastated in my dream! And, then I woke up.

Not like I care much about Martha Stewart or what she would think about my housekeeping or cooking, but I just thought it was a funny dream. I don't even buy any Martha Stewart related magazines, because, honestly, I think her world is unrealistic. There are houses that look like that, but only if you can afford a 24 hour maid OR you don't really live there. I mean, you could reside in it, but not LIVE there. A home is a warm place to make memories. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying a house that's a pigsty means it's more lived in, but, if your house is so immaculate, then you aren't really enjoying it. It's a museum...you don't want to touch anything. When I think of my childhood, I don't think "golly, my house was really clean". No, I think of the things I did in there, the people I spent time with, just all the warm memories of family and friends.

Anyways, John, my husband, thinks I have the strangest dreams, so I have a feeling most of my blogs will be of my dreams.

Okay...that's all for now....
